Rick Paswaters

Music Director Rick Paswaters has served as Music Director at several large churches in the southwestern United States over the past twenty years, including churches in Palm Desert, California; Tempe, Arizona; and Littleton, Colorado. In that capacity, he was responsible for both vocal and instrumental programming, developing and directing orchestras, choirs, bands and ensembles, and presenting seasonal concerts and holiday productions. Along the way, he received his Masters degree in conducting from Azusa Pacific University. He was also the director of the Highlands Ranch Community Chorus for several years. In 2010, he joined the faculty at Valor Christian High School, where he currently teaches courses in choir, orchestra, band and guitar, where he co-produces the annual Christmas Vespers concerts as well as serving as musical director for the yearly spring musicals, which have included productions of the Broadway musical Aida as well as Footloose, Fiddler On The Roof, and Beauty and the Beast. Rick is also an accomplished arranger and has produced several recordings, including “Sing to The Lord,” a choir recording with the Mission Hills Church choir.

David Rutherford

Music Director David Rutherford is an award-winning musician, broadcaster and educator with degrees in double Bass Performance and Music Education. He is Music Director for Denver’s Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra, and Assistant and Guest Conductor for the Longmont Symphony. As an educator, he has taught music from the elementary through the college level, and was honored as a National Teacher Fellow by the National Symphony Orchestra Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. As a bassist, David has performed extensively with orchestras throughout the West, appearing as Principal Bass with the Cheyenne Symphony, Idaho Falls Symphony and the Las Vegas Symphony; Assistant Principal Bass with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, Fort Collins Symphony, and even with the Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra. Rutherford is an award-winning broadcaster, heard weekday mornings (also on Sunday mornings Sacred Classics) on KVOD, Colorado Public Radio’s Classical Music Service at 88.1 FM, in the Denver Metro area.
